The Long Story

Inspired by the organic forms of nature, biological systems, and natural flows & curves, we created multiple pieces for this campus in the heart of the Torrey Pines research area. Tecture created this large scale hanging feature by aggregating wood members to a sweeping and rotating spine, all suspended over the campus’ central staircase, 35’ in the air. We also created a set of functional benches in a wave-like motion by stacking wood members into a curved form all around a wooden bench seat.
