The J Street Hospitality Desk combines radical functionality with use of traditional materials to express their brand values of honesty, transparency and integrity to create a true structure.
The design implements a relationship of clean simple lines and floating surfaces over prominent foundations. Each of those foundations presents its functionality through materiality. Warm and humble walnut wood is located around the space occupied by the user. while bold raw steel sweeps around an airy copper mesh. Symbolically these materials and their relationships express to the guests a sense of flexibility, simplicity and strength, as well as a warmth that emanates from behind the desk.
"If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, what is the significance of a clean desk?" - Lawrence J. Peter
