Scope: Design, Fabrication, Installation
Alexandria is a corporation that develops unique, world-class science and technology campuses, cultivating clusters of scientific innovation across the country. These clusters when seen from space take on elaborate interlocking shapes and even resemble neurons in the brain. Abstracting those forms, the composition is a flowing representation of the concept utilizing paper as its medium.
Over 40,000 pieces of paper, from annual reports published by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. between the Company’s IPO on the New York Stock Exchange in 1997 and 2015, were transformed into a large-scale art installation of more than 10,000 aggregated circles and flowing ribbons.
This installation lives in the lobby of Alexandria's Torrey Pines Campus amenity building.
